Juvenile Violence

Redwood City, California Juvenile Violence Lawyer

Fights at school used to be a minor side show following a school day. Today, even a minor school fight is deemed juvenile violence and the kids involved can be charged with serious criminal offenses.

Juvenile Violence Resulting in Adult Charges

At the law office of Jeffrey B. Hayden, Attorney at Law, I have represented many juveniles facing assault and battery charges at the misdemeanor and felony level. If an assault causes severe and traumatic injuries or death, the student could be certified to be tried as an adult and face homicide/murder charges. The "harmless" school fight or act of juvenile violence can have serious repercussions for both participants.

Gang Connections

When I take on a case related to juvenile violence or sexual assault, my goal is to present my juvenile client in the best light possible. Any connections to gang activity present a challenge and could result in charges being filed when normally the matter would be handled another way. Gang associations can also elevate a misdemeanor charge to a felony.

Probation for Juvenile Violence as an Option

As your attorney, I will seek the best result possible. If that is probation, then I will sit down with the juvenile offender and educate them on what they can do and what they cannot do. It essentially represents a second chance and it is important that a first-time offender not have their life severely disrupted for one mistake.
